Face it, the bevy of breeder/wives on the run from demonic master Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road were the action-movie’s best surprise.
People might have initially rolled their eyes at the idea of these beautiful, scantily-clad models/actors appearing in this dystopian, sand-filled world.
But Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Courtney Eaton and Abbey Lee worked it.
And this clip from the Blu-Ray/DVD release extras shows that they suffered for their art shooting Fury Road in strangely brutal weather conditions in the Namibian desert — especially tough when they literally had to soak each other down in hoses and roll in the dirt before each day. Really.
“We had to be soaking wet in the freezing cold,” says Lee.
Huntington-Whiteley (as The Splendid Angharad) points out the daily grind:.
“There would be this horrific moment for all of the girls where we begrudgingly had to shed our coats and hot water bottles and blankets and start jumping around like freaks. It must have been hilarious to watch.”Check out the routine for yourselves.
Meanwhile, the full Blu-Ray/DVD package drops on Tuesday, giving fans of director George Miller’s instant classic the chance to watch Mad Max: Fury Road again and again and again.
