‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ cast rocked with changes

When Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta kicks off on Nov. 9, there will be some new faces.

And one familiar cast member will be sort of fading away. Porsha Williams is no longer a main Housewife.

Williams, who joined the show in 2012, brought all sorts of drama and now says she was surprised to hear from Bravo on Wednesday that she wouldn’t be back with co-stars NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore (with whom she got into a brawl back in spring).”After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from ‘Housewife Status,’ but would remain on the show in a ‘Friend’ capacity,” Williams told Dish Nation, where she is as an entertainment news contributor. She went on to say it’s a “bittersweet,” moment, but also a “perfect time for me to spread my wings, and finally focus on all of my upcoming projects.”.

Joining the show are radio and TV host Claudia Jordan, who recently moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles, and actress Demetria McKinney, known as Janine Payne on TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. She will also have a recurring role on the show.
