Bill O’Brien says he isn’t sleeping in his office

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien during an NFL football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, in Houston.

Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has a lot on his plate. He has to prepare for the New England Patriots on a short week, and since Jimmy Garoppolo could sorta, maybe (who knows?) Play, there’s a lot to game plan for. There’s no time for the pointless stuff like driving home and sleeping in a real-life bed.

O’Brien told reporters on Monday that he was sleeping in his office while staying focused entirely on game prep. When asked if he was joking, O’Brien said, “Do I look like I’m kidding? Do I look fresh as a daisy right now?”.

Well, O’Brien now says he was just kidding. Good one!

When the bunking-in-the-office topic came up on Tuesday, O’Brien promised that he was sleeping at home.

He said via chron.Com:.

“I was kidding about that, I mean, holy smokes. My wife would kill me if I, well, maybe not. She’d probably want me to sleep in the office more.”

O’Brien added that he hadn’t slept at the office since he was on the Patriots’ staff. Go figure.
